What's your skin type?
mY SKIN TYPE IS A COMBINATION.
I have OILY/normal skin
What has been your greatest challenge in skincare?
My biggest challenge with my skin is that, since I’m in the entertainment business, I have really heavy makeup put on my skin every day. This makes it really challenging to keep my skin smooth or to keep it zit free. When I have really heavy makeup that I wear all day, every single day I’ll immediately start breaking out and see imperfections.
The second challenge is keeping my skin hydrated because the makeup is so heavy that my skin can’t breathe. The third challenge I face with my skin is that I have hereditary dark circles. So my biggest challenge is trying to look really good without makeup, which I try to not wear makeup on the weekends.
What remedies have helped you that are now part of your skincare routine?
No matter what I remove my makeup at the earliest time possible. Some days I have a very difficult work schedule where I wake up at 2:30am and I am out of work by 9 or 10am so if i have the possibility of taking my makeup off at 10am and go makeup-less then I try to do that.
I do my best to keep hydrated but I feel like a big part of my skin looking good is all about eating right. I feel like my diet has a big impact on the way my skin looks so I eat right and make sure I drink a lot of water. I can always tell when my skin is dehydrated.
I also always use a serum in the morning and a moisturizer before I go to bed.
What has been the best skincare advice you've received or want to share with others?
SLEEP. 8 hours of sleep are vital.
If you cant do 8 do 7...if you cant do 7 do 6 but really make an effort to sleep. I’ve felt that nothing makes you look more radiant than than when you are well rested. I cannot stress this enough. If you are disciplined and do everything else but your sleep schedule is a shit show then you are going to look like a shit show.
"It’s important to have your sleeping schedule on point. "
What are your TOP beauty foods?
I like to eat healthy in general. I like to eat as organic and as natural as i possibly can. Of course this doesn’t happen all the time. I also love potato chips and burgers but I do try to drink a lot of water. I rarely have a beverage that is not water. I rarely drink juice, sodas or anything with sugar in it including coffee. I drink the appropriate amount of water according to my weight and height.
Besides that I consume any superfood like chia in my water, or spirulina in my protein shakes. Anything that helps boost my energy and is good for my overall health
What are some of your Must-Have products?
Belle Nu has really opened my eyes recently due to the fact that I am in the entertainment business I should be taking much more care of my skin.
So now they have me into using the LED mask which is definitely something I learned from Belle Nu. Another essential product is a very good cleanser. I’ve realized that no matter how amazing your makeup removing wipes are, there is always a little bit that gets left behind. I use a cleanser I find in Mexico City from Skin Derm which I use in the morning and at night.
I also cannot live without a tinted sunblock. That is the best thing in the world for me
